What’s YOUR Five Favorite Books?

Every serious reader has a five favorite books list. BookDisciple.com offers you a chance to share your expertise, and tell us about five favorites.

I will start with my favorites, but the only thing I can guarantee is that it will change over time. I read lots of books! Inevitably I will read something worthy of being right up there, and then one of the others will shift out.

Why not give just your favorite book? That would be unfair. It is tough to name just one that takes all the honors. A list of five is much more balanced, and gives your fellow readers a good idea as to the type of books you like, or the authors you respect.

Here goes…

Dries Cronje’s Five Favorite Books

Dries is webmaster and founder of BookDisciple.com. His five favorite reads are:

1. Jesus Drives Me Crazy! By Leonard Sweet

I do not blame people for sometimes wondering if I have it all together. I do not always act in a way that this world will approve of. Len discusses and elaborates on my NUTS wisdom. An excellent read!

2. The Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson

This is the one that God used to set me on course for my earthly life. As a direct consequence of this book, I am now living the life God had predetermined for me before I was born. What an adventure…

3. The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManus

Again, we should not allow this world to domesticate us. We have a barbarian faith that calls us to do some barbarian things. Erwin uses a story from the bible to illustrate this concept, and to help us live it practically in our lives.

4. Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell

Rob repainted a painting that has been looked at and studied to exhaustion throughout history. This book shows you his refreshing, new painting. It is about time we started looking at things in a way that suits our generation…

5. Revolution by George Barna

The revolution has begun. Some disciples are leaving the church, but still moving closer to Jesus. Our mission is not to belong to a church, but to follow our Lord. Revolution shows you how to join the revolution if you are not a revolutionary already.

All these books have been reviewed on this website.

Now it’s your turn. If you love reading this should be a breeze… Go on, your fellow disciples need your recommendations.
