Why book reviews of secular books? Disciples of Jesus Christ are learners and followers at heart. We follow Jesus, and we are encouraged to be victorious in this world. This can be achieved through the power of Jesus, and our knowledge.

God said in Hosea 4:6 that His "people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." Can any of us then not have the humble attitude of a student, which hungers for knowledge?

Christians are often guilty of being too judgmental, and declaring things from the secular world as impure, unholy, or unnecessary. If it was not for wisdom from the secular world, I would not be sitting here typing on an Apple MacBook, using Microsoft Word to create an article for the Internet (which would not exist). I would not be able to read books, as the printing press would never have been created.

Wisdom from the secular world is wisdom from the normal, real world out there. The world that God created. Maybe the whole Christian vs. Secular distinction is flawed in essence... I think that's it. We should acknowledge wisdom wherever we encounter it, and if the wisdom can contribute to our knowledge on a given subject, and help us be better followers of Jesus, then it is from God.

God uses every good thing in His creation for the advancement of His glory.
