Faith Seekers, for Those Not Sure
What They Want to Believe!

Welcome to the faith seekers section of BookDisciple.com! It is your right to doubt and seek. This section is for those people who have yet to make up their mind about what exactly they believe. That is, if they decide to believe in anything…

Life is a mystery. I like mysteries. I think that is what makes life fun, and what keeps us sane. The whole issue of faith is also a mystery. We will never know what exactly we should believe. What is important, as Brian McLaren says, is that we learn how to believe.

Imagine everyone was forced to believe the same thing… How boring!

Thank goodness… You have the right to believe whatever you want! I do not want to decide for you, or make you feel bad about your decision. We have all been given free will, and I do not want to be that guy who takes away yours. Never.

No matter what you decide to believe, or no matter if you decide to go through life without any defined faith, I will respect you. If I ever get the chance, I would like to be your friend, and learn from you.

I am a Christian. I am proud to be associated with Jesus Christ, but not so proud to be associated with some of my fellow Christians. We are a funny bunch. We do not always realize that those choosing not to belong to our little click also know about Jesus, and also know what He taught.

The problem is that we then go and act in a different way to what He taught, and then the world have every reason to believe we are just a bunch of phonies… We are blaspheming God by making His name a disgrace.

We are told to love everyone, but instead we are the first to condemn gay people, people with real addiction problems, victims of poverty with no choice but to steal, anyone not believing the way we do… And sadly, the list goes on.

Sincere Apology to Seekers

Please allow me to apologize on behalf of all Christians to you and all other seekers skeptical of Christianity for a couple of things:

  • I apologize for judging you. The Bible teaches me not to do this, but still I will not listen. I have no right to judge you.
  • I apologize for the church supporting and advocating things that are clearly wrong like slavery, segregation of races, Apartheid, anti-Semitism, child abuse, greed, etc. Again, this is not a good witness or example.
  • I apologize for thinking that I am better than you, and making my feelings so obvious. I am not…
  • I want to apologize for the fact that I always seem to be trying to get you to believe what I believe. As the band Casting Crowns sing “we are not the only way to Jesus.” I want to love you and be your friend. This will not change if you never decide to become a Christian.
  • I apologize for not living the core values of Christianity and for not making the world a better place. I guess this makes me a hypocrite. I will try to stop…
  • I apologize for calling you a seeker when you are just another human being, no less normal than me.

  • The problem is… Christians are just human. We should stop having an attitude about us, especially if we can’t live up to our own beliefs. I guess all we can expect of each other is that we are trying and will keep trying to improve and to become more like our Master.

Jesus was the ultimate example of how to live. What a pity that Christians can’t seem to get it right…

Remember you are free to believe whatever you want to! You can even be a seeker for the rest of your life. This is one of the fundamental rights received as human beings. It is what makes us human…

If, however, you are searching for something deeper that you can sense but not put your finger on just quite yet – the following books and videos might help.

Do not want any influence on yourself, your faith or your lack of faith? Click the little red cross in the upper right corner of your screen (or the little red button in the upper left corner of your window if you do Mac). Close this website, and carry on living your life. No hard feelings…

If they do help, please let me know. Or if you just want to chat about hope, meaning, goodness, purpose, beauty, truth, life or death, feel free to contact me. I am waiting for your email…

You will notice that the books are rated and the videos not. For a description of the rating methodology used for the books, please see the page where I post Christian Book Reviews.
